Sicily, Italy
Nero d’Avola, the primary red grape of Sicily, shows wonderful Mediterranean fruit along with rocky scents of Sicilian herbs. Made by Clara and her sister Annamaria, a 4th generation winemaking family working organically, whose vineyards are surrounded by a bird sanctuary and overlook the Med. The wine is part of a project by New York based Mary Taylor, who seeks to import traditional, old work wines made with natural principles.
